Skunk Stories - Assistant Mover

Living among the flora and fauna, we have many stories about our favorite smelly friends - skunks.  Here's one that we heard from one of our rental clients.

Moving is exhausting no matter how big or compact the house.  A single man decided he wanted to get in touch with nature and rented a house in the mountains.  He was thrilled that he found the perfect house with level entry with access to the forest just across the street from his house.  Since he was moving from the city in LA county, he didn't want to make more than one trip so he rented a large moving truck.  By the time he loaded up his stuff, made the hour long trip back to his new house, and unloaded the truck; he was exhausted.  It was hot since it was mid summer and since the truck wasn't due back until the next day, he could enjoy his evening in his new home.

The next morning he was rested and ready to go.  He went out to the rental truck checking the back and making sure he didn't forget to unload anything.  He forgot to roll up the drivers side window but that's ok since the inside of the cab wasn't holding in the heat from the day.  He opened the door and hopped in ready for his hour long drive to return the rental truck.  He made it to the rental yard and parked the truck.  As he got out of the truck, he thought to check around the drivers seat for any trash. When he felt under the seat and touched something furry, he jumped back and a skunk crawled out from under the seat.  Freaked out, he slammed the door and ran from the truck.  A rental truck employee walked and asked what was wrong with the truck.  The renter explained how a skunk must have crawled into the truck from the open window and fell asleep under the seat.  The employee stated that they couldn't accept the truck with a skunk in it.  The renter tossed him the keys and told the employee that he returned the truck as promised but the skunk was now their problem.

The renter returned to his mountain home and decided that while he enjoyed nature and his mountain surroundings, he would make sure his car windows were always rolled up.
