How potlucks help home values

One of the most overlooked item on a buyer's inspection list is the neighborhood.  How do you evaluate the neighborhood?  Get to know the neighbors before you're committed to buy.  I used to live in a neighborhood where we had block parties every year, (the band and dance floor was on my deck because it was the only flat area on the block).  Now, I know my neighbors enough to borrow a cup of sugar when necessary and we look out for each other.  Kind of an unspoken neighborhood watch program.

The neighbors surrounding your home can help stabilize a neighborhood or even increase your homes value.  My neighbors worked together to do yard clean up and even yearly planting of spring flower bulbs.
