The mysterious credit score. Does anyone understand the nuances of their credit score card? Other than, pay on time, don't max your credit lines and strive to live debt free, my personal experience has also been a mystery. I think the one revelation I've learned through the years is that older lines of credit have greater value. If you have a credit card that you've had for years and have charged and paid off repeatedly, then this will have a more positive effect compared to newer open lines of credit.
